It’s time to stop telling yourself everything is fine when you know something isn’t.

 

I wasn’t always calm, confident, or grounded.

For a long time, my life looked successful from the outside.

Inside, I was barely holding it together.

I was in a demanding corporate sales role, carrying responsibility for teams, targets, and performance, while raising my daughter on my own as she struggled deeply with her mental health.

I didn’t know where to turn.

Support systems were scarce. Waitlists were long. And much of the help we did receive felt transactional, quick fixes instead of real care. My daughter was slowly written off by schools and institutions. As her parent, I felt written off as well.

Every unexpected phone call sent a wave of fear through my body.

Every evening, I walked through the door, bracing myself, never knowing what I’d be walking into.

I was exhausted. Overwhelmed. Afraid.

Carrying far more than any one person should.

And if I’m honest, I was angry.

Emotionally dysregulated. Yelling more than I want to admit. Judging my daughter. Asking myself why she couldn’t just “get it together.”

What I couldn’t see at the time was this:

I was drowning too.

Everything began to change when I stopped trying to control the chaos around me and turned inward instead.

 

I began doing the inner work. Learning how to regulate myself. Rebuilding trust in God, in the process, and in our journey. Not overnight. Slowly. Imperfectly. One choice at a time.

Today, my life looks very different.

I run a successful business alongside my daughter.

I’m deeply proud of who she is and of who I’ve become.

I’ve returned to my corporate career with clarity, confidence, and emotional steadiness. I now support other parents walking through painful seasons with their children, not by fixing anyone, but by helping them trust the journey and see challenges as lessons, not life sentences.

I travel; sometimes with my family, sometimes on my own.

I sleep peacefully.

I wake up grounded and hopeful about the future.

Most importantly, I’ve turned what once felt like my greatest mess into a message of hope—through coaching, speaking, and now a podcast—helping others come home to themselves, with God at the center of it all.
